Connect Oxygen Design Set Sites to Your Shop with Asura Remotes

Selling Oxygen design sets from several WordPress installs is hard when your shop can't reach them. Licenses and generators live on each design set site, so you would have to log in to every one to manage them. This video shows how to connect each design set install to your main e-shop with Asura's APIs and Remotes. After that, the shop can manage licenses and generators on every connected site from one dashboard.

We start from the setup built in the earlier tutorials: Design Set 1, Design Set 2 and a main e-shop install, all running Asura. Building the design sets in Oxygen Builder isn't covered here. This video is only about connecting them.

Create an API on the design set install

The shop needs a key and secret before it can talk to a design set site. Asura bundles them into one connection string, so you only copy and paste once.

  1. On the design set install, open Asura. It sits under the Aether menu.
  2. On the Remotes tab, click Initiate to create the connection.
  3. Go to the APIs tab and rename the label so you can tell the connection apart from others.
  4. Click the copy icon to copy the connection string.

Give this API full permissions. The shop can only edit licenses and generators on the design set site if it has full permissions.

Add the remote in the e-shop

  1. On the e-shop install, open Asura → Remotes and click Add New.
  2. Paste the connection string. It fills in the Site title, Endpoint, Key and Secret fields for you.
  3. Click Submit.

The design set now shows up in the Remotes list. You can also connect manually: double-click the API entry on the design set site to see its key and secret, then type them into the fields yourself.

Repeat for the second design set

Repeat both steps on Design Set 2. Then go back to Remotes in the shop. Both design sets are listed with their endpoints, and the keys and secrets are masked.
