Install Asura: Aether Framework, License and Database Check

If Asura isn't set up in the right order, you can end up with a plugin that is active but has no database tables, or a license key typed into the wrong screen. This video installs Asura on the shop site that manages your Oxygen design sets. It covers the Aether framework, uploading the plugin, checking the database and activating the license, so you know the manager works before you connect any design sets.

Intro

The site in this video is the Asura design sets manager, which is your e-shop. It doesn't need Oxygen Builder. You only need Asura plus the plugin that runs the shop: WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads.

Framework

Asura depends on Aether, a free framework plugin that holds the shared code for DPlugins plugins. Install it first:

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New.
  2. Search for dplugins (or aether) with Keyword selected.
  3. Install and activate Aether.

Don't deactivate or delete Aether later. The FAQ tab on the Aether Dashboard warns that DPlugins plugins rely on it and may break without it.

Asura

We assume you've already bought and downloaded Asura.

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  2. Click Choose file, select the zip (asura-v4.0.2.zip in the video) and click Install Now.
  3. Activate it like any other plugin.

Activation

A plugin that looks active but never created its tables will fail later without telling you why. Check the tables before doing anything else:

  1. Go to Aether → Asura and open the System Info tab.
  2. Click Get Dabase Migration Status.
  3. You should see a table of migrations (licenses, generators, APIs, remotes, settings and more), each marked Yes. If the table doesn't appear, reinstall the plugin and click the button again.

Next, activate your license. Don't enter it under Licenses. That tab holds the licenses Asura generates for your customers.

  1. Open the Settings tab.
  2. Paste your license key and click Save changes.
  3. Asura confirms the license is active.

With the manager ready, the next step is installing Asura on each design set site (the video continues with design sets 1 and 2).
