Hidden Tools Menu? Open WP Admin Cleaner Settings Again

WP Admin Cleaner's settings live under the Tools menu. If you hide Tools while cleaning up the admin, the settings page goes with it, and you have no obvious way back in. This quick tip shows how to open the WP Admin Cleaner settings page again from the admin bar, with no database editing and without deactivating the plugin.

Get the Tools menu back in four clicks

Hiding menus is the whole point of the plugin. That makes it easy to hide the one menu you still need. The recovery switch is always in the WordPress admin bar, so you can't lock yourself out.

  1. In the admin bar, top right, click Deactivate Cleaner. It sits next to Enable Safemode.
  2. The cleaner stops hiding things, so the full admin menu and all the WP Admin Cleaner settings are visible again.
  3. In the list of hidden menu items, unselect Tools.
  4. Save your changes and go back to the Dashboard.

Tools is back in the sidebar, and WP Admin Cleaner is back under it.

If you want to hide Tools from clients but still get to the settings yourself, keep this in mind: Deactivate Cleaner gets you back in any time you need to change something.
